Jane was born in Bath, Maine, and grew up in Bangor, Maine. She went to Bangor High, and was active in many extra-curricular activities. Her Maine roots have provided a deep affinity for the state, and likewise for her entire family. An early marriage took Jane to Brea, California - to the home she has lived in for the last 60 years, and where she passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 16th. She brought-up five children in this home - Vicki, Jeff (d. 1974), Lisa, Betsy, and Callie; all the while working full time for the O.C. Judicial Court System. She divorced her first husband in 1971, and married Mark Ransome in 1998 when they purchased a ‘basket-case’ DB2/4. Some eight years later, the car was beautifully restored and named Samantha. ‘She’ was campaigned far and wide, including an unforgettable excursion to England and Le Mans in 1999. Jane became USA West Secretary in 2000, and ran a tidy ship under Larry Davies (Ex. President) for the following 18 years, while also being instrumental in organizing countless events. She was much loved and respected anywhere she went, and a much adored mother, grand-mother and wife; as well as wonderful home-maker and hostess. She will be a sorely missed matriarch of the Ransome family……..
